{"id":40892,"date":"2016-10-26T03:37:46","date_gmt":"2016-10-25T19:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flexhk.com\/2016\/10\/26\/spice-crusted-salmon\/"},"modified":"2024-09-02T15:22:58","modified_gmt":"2024-09-02T07:22:58","slug":"spice-crusted-salmon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/like2say.com\/flexhk\/spice-crusted-salmon\/","title":{"rendered":"Spice crusted salmon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16999\" src=\"https:\/\/flexhk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Spice-crusted-salmon.jpg\" alt=\"spice-crusted-salmon\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Flex Senior Director Genevieve Roy-Theriault<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is an easy to prepare, express recipe that can be served without a fuss, and when presented well is equally perfect for special occasions.<br \/>\nProtein-packed salmon is the hero here, and for good reason: as a well-recognized \u2018superfood\u2019, salmon contains a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids, which research suggests can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.<br \/>\nEasy, delicious and good for you \u2013 what\u2019s not to love?<\/p>\n<p>Serves 4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br \/>\n2 tbsp (30 ml) coriander seeds<br \/>\n2 tbsp (30 ml) mustard seeds<br \/>\n1 tbsp (15 ml) white or maple sugar (optional)<br \/>\n2 tsp (10 ml) sea salt<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp (2 ml) ground pepper<br \/>\n4 150 g (5 oz) salmon filets<br \/>\n2 c. tbsp (30 ml) of olive oil, or half oil and half butter<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method<\/strong><br \/>\nPreheat the oven to 230 \u00b0C (450 \u00b0F).<br \/>\nCoarsely grind the spices in a coffee grinder, mortar and pestle, or by crushing them in an airtight plastic bag with a small heavy saucepan or a rolling pin.<br \/>\nMix the spices, sugar, salt and pepper on a plate.<br \/>\nCoat the salmon with the spice mixture and let the fragrances soak in for a few minutes.<br \/>\nHeat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt the butter in the oil.<br \/>\nPlace the fish spice side down and sear for a minute or so until there is a nice coloring. Be careful not to burn the spice crust. Then turn the fish over and sear the other side. Continue the cooking in the oven for 5 to 8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the filets, until the center of the filets remain pink.<br \/>\nServe with your favorite steamed or grilled vegetables.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Genevieve<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter having experienced almost all possible training regimens, Genevieve fell in love with Pilates nearly two years ago and has not looked back since.
