Let\u2019s rewind to Hong Kong in 2005, when two very different movement stories collided and created something that would shape Asia\u2019s wellness landscape for the next twenty years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meet the founders<\/strong>
Anna Serafinas Luk arrived in Hong Kong after a luminous European ballet career. Trained at the Rambert School in London, later performing as a soloist with the Essen Ballet Company and the Bavarian State Ballet, Anna carried one core gift into her next chapter: complete mastery of how a finely tuned body moves.

Heather Thomas came from a different world. Armed with a strong business career at The Walt Disney Company and Chase Manhattan Bank, she stepped away from corporate life and went all in on intelligent movement. Pilates had always been her anchor, yoga her daily ritual, and ballet her childhood expertise. And she was ready to bring something fresh to Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spark<\/strong>
At the time, Hong Kong had skyline views, ambition and a fast-growing wellness scene, yet it lacked true, technique-led Pilates. Heather saw space for a boutique studio that could feel both premium and personal. When Anna entered the picture, her performance discipline and deep body literacy clicked instantly with Heather\u2019s business mind and methodical approach to movement training.

Their partnership was both intuitive and smart. They spoke the same movement language, just with different accents. Anna brought precision, artistry and the ability to feel movement from the inside out. Heather brought strategy, scale and an unwavering commitment to quality. Together they built something that Asia had not yet seen. A studio where precision met luxury, and where movement carried intention and meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From that first Stanley studio to today\u2019s locations in One Island South, Central and FLEX Studio Singapore, their vision has grown into one of Asia\u2019s leading homes for Classical Pilates. Their clients include busy executives, weekend athletes, total beginners and long-time devotees who simply want to feel stronger, taller and more alive in their own bodies.

Fun facts from the early days<\/strong>
The first FLEX Studio opened above a Pacific Coffee in Stanley in 2005. The neighbourhood was still quiet then. FLEX and the caf\u00e9 were early signs of change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People who know Anna know she is an extraordinary baker. If FLEX had not happened, she would likely be running an impossibly elegant cake shop with the kind of desserts people queue for. Heather, who loves flowers and design, would probably be beside her creating arrangements, curating the space and dreaming up the details. So if they ever decide to pivot, expect an elevated cake shop meets floral atelier that would become an instant cult
favourite.

Heather\u2019s non-negotiable wellness habits<\/strong>
\u201cClean water. I bring my shower filter everywhere I travel. Clean sleep. I travel with my dust mite pillow covers. Sunshine every day or vitamin D. Eat to match your energy output. And always shower at night to wash the day away, then finish with body oil. Pilates of course. To me, it is more than exercise. It is life\u2019s lessons in sixty minutes. It teaches respect for your mind and body.\u201d

Unexpected studio moments from Anna<\/strong>
\u201cAfter a morning reformer class, a client went home and delivered her baby that afternoon. And yes, you can safely do Pilates throughout pregnancy.\u201d
